The second 'editions' link (i.e. for the separated work) offered when a successful separation has been achieved offers a malformed link, with no '/' between the work number and 'editions', like this: http://www.librarything.com/work/9909564editions

That's just not true. It's not true in the code and I don't see it when I separate either!

I've seen it too, but not always, and I couldn't define the circumstances when it happens. Sorry, not helpful.

I've also occasionally seen the case where the link for the separated work just went to /work/editions, leaving out the work number entirely. Next time I see one of these I'll post the work numbers of the original and separated works.

I've just had something similar happen. I was combining two works, and had both pages open. I did the combination from http://www.librarything.com/work/125698/editions. On the other page, http://www.librarything.com/work/8439095, I clicked the "editions" link before the first page had finished loading the author combine/separate page. I was taken to http://www.librarything.com/work/125698editions. There's nothing wrong in the HTML on the 8439095 page, so perhaps it's in the redirection to the combined work code?

I've just reloaded the 8439095 page and got the newly combined 125698 page, which is working fine.

Possible repro case: have two works open in two tabs, in one tab combine the two, in the other tab click the editions link. Stay tuned...

Gotcha!

Opened http://www.librarything.com/work/1111421 and http://www.librarything.com/work/5116243 in two tabs. On page http://www.librarything.com/work/1111421/editions, clicked the "(combine/separate potentials)" link and combined the two works, using the approved method.

As soon as that tab started loading the author combine/separate page, I clicked the "editions" link on http://www.librarything.com/work/5116243, and got http://www.librarything.com/work/1111421editions.

I'm not sure how important the timing is, or how to get this when doing separation, but it does seem like there's something amiss in the redirect code.

If you're looking for works to combine, you can of course separate anything and then recombine it, or go to http://www.librarything.com/combine.php?author=piercechonda and use Second Row Piano Side, which I have left uncombined.

(I love http://www.librarything.com/random.php?type=work)

Another thing to reproduce it is if you take a work and go to its edition page, then combine it so it will redirect to another work number, and hit reload on the old edition page, it will take you to one of these broken slashless pages.

This does appear to be fixed now, at least for the combining case that I found. Could someone who encountered it when separating try that again?
