I see the following error messages on author pages:

Yup, somebody broke something. I blame the monkeys.

Or maybe the elephants.

I'd say this is possibly to do with the Melvil Decimal System feature (purely an assumption based on "commonknowledge" and "fwiki" or "fielded wiki").

I got one when adding Molly Greene's Catholic Pirates and Greek merchants. There seems to be something seriously wrong with the author's name.

Yep, and it's not just on author pages, not just on newly added books/works pages, it seems to be on every work page too... ummm no, I didn't check all 1100+ books that I own, but I checked enough of them, both recently added and ones I've had for awhile.
ETA yep, saw the problem with font sizes too.

Oh wow!
I thought it was entirely my fault this morning. For two days, I've been trying to combine a set of books that some people list under the editor and others under the publisher, and it is undone each morning.
I thought that message was just for me.
Whew!
My old eyes LIKE the larger font size!

12. I like the larger font size too. Hmm... wonder if there's any hope we can convince Tim to keep that font size, at least as an option.

I got the error message, too.
for larger fonts, remember crtl and + makes the fonts larger.
it makes pages look messy, but you get larger fonts.

Problem confirmed (again) on work pages. Haven't loaded an author page yet.

Let's see... OK, made the error go away. Looking around to see if my patch is good "all around". Let me know if I made anything funky happen. -Mike

If you want everything a little larger, in most browsers you can do Ctrl+Plus (hold control key, press plus key); Ctrl+0 (zero) resets to default size.
I've just tried, and it also fixed the php error. Ah, never mind. Thanks, Mike!

Well, the nasty error messages are gone, but so are the yellow LT author buttons on author page and profile...

The trouble with using the CTRL + Plus is that it increases the font size on ALL sites. I don't want the majority of sites to change any. I use Firefox and nearly always have an average of 8 tabs open... of which, usually only one or two of those sites would require a bump up of the font size. :/
231dragones
Well, 8 is average, but some days I have 12. I don't like to open too many tabs because that slows my system down.

Err, I just tried out Ctrl + plus and it only changed the font size for LibraryThing, other sites were not affected. You can also use Ctrl + mouse scroll wheel. Firefox 3.6.8.

21> Well, if you're using FF, the addon NoSquint saves zoom settings per-site. And you can set the text zoom and the overall zoom independently. Other browsers with addon capabilities may have their own variant of this.

I'm not using NoSquint (but I am using FF) and ctrl-plus changes font size on a per site basis.
