Hi!
re: Karl Marx
Please see Common Knowledge › Search › canonical name Marx, Karl .
Neither yesterday nor today I was able to combine the last three author urls with the main author name using "url syntax".
Today I also tried the GUI method. There is no indication at all that the GUI method does not perform combining.
Best regards Reinhardt

It's probably this problem: http://www.librarything.com/topic/99428
By the way, please don't use canonical names unless you absolutely have to. There is nasty bug involved in that one (name goes blank if/when canonical name is deleted).

Mikhail Arshinov ( Touchstone syntax: Mikhail Arshinov arshinovmn::Mikhail Arshinov )
see Common Knowledge › Search › canonical name Mikhail Arshinov
There the Cyrillic author name is neither visible at the top (at "Also known as:") nor at "This entry includes…"

BarkingMatt do you know the main topics handeling remarks b) and c) ?

No Михаил Наумович Аршинов won't show in "also known as" if/when there's a canonical name "Mikhail Arshinov" attached to that page. But after I separated them, and put the Аршинов version in that field, and recombined them, it does now.

Yes, I know CK doesn't always "travel" in these combinations - I see it as a serious problem.
Sorry, though I know these things have been discussed before I don't seem to be able to find the topics.
