A Guideposts large paperback edition I had never read a Debbie Macomber book before, or any of the Blossom Street books. I'm not sure if I will read another one. I like the made for tv movies based on her books, but reading them is something entirely different. This novel was very slow to start, having to go through all the backstory of how Grant left and why Bethanne was on her own. It didn't really need to do that, because it was hashed out repeatedly throughout the book. The Bethanne / Max storyline seemed a little far fetched at first, but actually made for some good reading. I think she could have shaved 100 pages off the book though, because Bethanne's inability to make a decision just drug out longer than necessary. The daughter kept things kind of grounded and spontaneous. I didn't find her annoying like some other readers have stated. She was just a girl that wanted her parents back together, and what child of divorce doesn't want that at some point? And we don't have a conclusion to Annie's love story. Maybe in another book? The grandmother's story was sweet and actually really believable. I've heard of older people finding each other after years and years and falling in love all over again. Overall, a decent read. Giving it 3 stars is a little generous on my part. I would recommend it only if you are a die-hard Macomber fan or very into romance novels. no reviews | add a review
