Description
"In this fully revised and updated edition, Alfred-Maurice de Zayas documents how the closing phase and the aftermath of World War II saw millions of refugees and displaced persons wandering across Eastern Europe in one of the most brutal and chaotic migrations in world history. The genocidal barbarism of the Nazi forces has been well documented. What is little known is the fate of fifteen million German civilians who found themselves on the wrong side of new postwar borders. All over show more Eastern Europe, the inhabitants of communities that had been established for many centuries were either expelled or killed. Over two million Germans did not survive. Some of these people had supported Hitler, but the great majority did not. In A Terrible Revenge, de Zayas describes their horrible fate. This new edition includes an updated foreword, epilogue, and additional information from recent interviews with the children of the displaced."--Page 4 of cover. show lessTags

After reading the very-flawed Crimes and Mercies, this book was a breath of fresh air in its measured approach. This book's focus: Lands that had been ruled and lived in by Germans for centuries were, with the acquiescence of Churchill and Roosevelt, taken away from Germany after World War II and turned over to the Russians and their puppet regimes in Eastern Europe, and about 14 million Germans were evicted from those lands. Not the most well-crafted book, but competently done.
This book costs nearly nothing but it brings out so much truth you never heard of before!
You usually cannot buy truth in shops, but Mr. A, de Zayas produces the evidence that a human being can buy truth:
Most people do not expect the truth you read in his books, because they have heard only stories by only one perspective of the war (A terrible revenge).
Mr. Professor Dr. Alfred De Zayas knows how to fascinate the reader by bringing the horrible truth to the light and to the interested reader. Be prepared to read what you never heard of before and be prepared to see the war from a more differentiated view.
Dearest reader, see more about him on Wiki and Google!
