A self-made local bully is murdered on the opening night of a music festival. Despised by everyone, the police have more than enough leads to follow. An enjoyable read, the book is balanced between a narrative description of a gentrified small English village and a police procedural. Even the murder occurs at the half-way point in the book. Worth a read.
