The Barefoot Contessa is one of my favorite shows on the Food Network. Ina Garten manages to give her viewers a real "homey" feel and makes the art of entertaining seem easy. This cookbook achieves that same "ease" effect that her show does. With foolproof tips scattered throughout the book on a variety of topics, it is a very readable cookbook. The recipes are dishes that one actually wants to make at home. I borrowed this book from the library but I liked it so much that I plan to purchase it for myself. There are just far too many recipes that I want to try to not own my own copy.
There are an number of great recipes in Foolproof. One caveat, watch the salt. I found that the recipes are a touch too salty.
