Wow. As usual James has given us another unique, exciting and passionate book. Georgia Hotchkiss had been forced by her boss to return the Sundance Wyoming. This is where she grew up in the shadow of her twin brother, now deceased. She has many ghosts to face and hopefully excize including an ex husband and his pregnant wife.
Tell McKay had a huge crush on her in high school, but she used him so badly he is still warry of her. Their backgrounds parallel each other in so many places. Each has lost a brother. Each has a domineering emotionally abusive father. Each have insecurities about their self image.
Tell and Georgia fit each other like a glove. He helps her out of her shyness and she helps him to see his own worth, not as a shadow show more of his cousin or family. The class reunion is what we all must secretly wish would happen and these two did it.
A very hard book to put down. A very enjoyable read. show less

Really 4.5 Stars
I love the Rough Riders series; these books are the ones I blame fully with my love (obsession) with Cowboys and the reason I should probably avoid Texas unless I want to be arrested. That being said, these last few have felt very different. That isn’t a bad thing, they just are. The earlier books are full of horn-dog men who grew up in a happy home but are now ready to settle down. The books that have featured Casper’s sons are nothing like that. These books show cowboys emotionally scarred by an emotionally and physically abusive father, who have had to fight for every bit of Cowboy pride that they have. They keep show more themselves away from the rest of the clan in a way the preceding cowboys never did, holding a little resentment against the rest of the family for their easy way of life. It gives the books a very different feel but they are no less enjoyable.
Tell’s book is very different in another way; in no way is Tell ready to settle down. Tell is a man who is all about the fun times. He sleeps with dozens of women, manages to charm them when they get pissed at him for not remembering their name and has no intentions of settling down. He is literally the teenage boy you’d shuck on the head and go “awww, you’re so naughty...” His attraction to Georgia hits him like a steam train, but it’s still more about sleeping with his teenaged obsession than the woman she has become. He is so quick to judge her on her past actions, so eager to find fault with her intentions that he pissed me right off. He wanted to strut around like a peacock with his new buff muscles and sexy moves, but he was unwilling to believe that anyone else could have changed too.
Georgia was a completely different character. People assumed that she had the easiest time in high school, but in order to try to fit in, she took considerable emotional poundings. I loved the way she faced all her fears and met with all those people who hated her in high school, trying to make them see she’d changed. I really enjoyed the way she started to bond with all the people of Sundance, having the kind of relationships that she had never really enjoyed before. I loved her girls nights out...those are the kind of evenings I enjoy But what I really liked the most was that she wanted people to like her, but wasn’t willing to allow them to make her bend in order to do so. She is the type of heroine I love in these novels; feisty, emotionally bruised and with a back-bone made of steel.
Tell and Georgia’s relationship was fun to read, but it took me a while to take them seriously as a couple. Tell was so insistent on them just being “fun”, that even I believed it! The sex was off the charts amazing (trampoline scene = INSPIRED!) but it was all about play-time. It is only after the emotional stuff starts to come out and slap them around the face that I started to see them as the missing piece to each other’s puzzle. What I found the most heart warming was the acceptance that they gave each other when they realised what their flaws truly were.
Cos this is a Rough Riders book, there is plenty of McKay man flesh around to keep me happy. With a fun-loving cowboy and a woman who is willing to experience ALL of the charms he has to offer, I got the ride I wanted. I loved Chase in this book too.... *sigh*, why aren’t these men real? show less

This book is about Tell McKay and Georgia Hotchkiss. Tell had such a crush on Georgia in high school even though he knew (in his mind) she was just using him to copy homework from or to set up prom decorations so she didnt have to. She was a cheerleader who was the girlfriend of the most popular boy on campus she certainly wouldnt be interested in a guy like him..
But as we know things are not always as they appear. Both Tell and Georgia had rough childhoods. Tell's Daddy was a drunk and a mean man when he was growing up. And being the middle child he didnt always get the better end of the stick. When his brother Luke died things really changed. Georgia's childhood was ok up until her twin brother died and then her family fell apart. show more Both sets of parents are divorced now and even through Tell and Georgia were not children when the divorces happened they both suffer from anger, fear, loneliness, and guilt.
Ms James did a great job of showing how conflicts between divorced parents effects even grown children. That is can still effect the mental growth of those adult children just like it would a small child. Both Tell and Georgia sense of well being and self-worth still played a big part in there lives today due to there parents divorces.
For the relationship between Tell and Georgia to work - they both had to let go of somethings from the past, stand up to siblings they felt were taking advantage of them and also to see that maybe they misunderstood somethings about why a parent did something.
I know I've totally skipped over the good parts :) Yes there were hot smoking sex scenes. Yes there was a baby born to another loved McKay. Yes Keely is still struggling with whether or not she wants to be a mother someday. And yes Casper McKay is still a mean old man.
Another great book in the McKay saga. show less

REVIEW:
Would you really be surprised if I said this book was hilarious, hot, and GREAT? I didn’t think so. Ms. James has done it again. She manages to take these cowboys and make such a great story with them.
I loved Tell’s story. He was such a sweet and sexy one. Georgia was great too and I found myself rooting her on. These two were so unbelievable sexy together but more so they were HILARIOUS!
I would definitely recommend this one to anyone looking for some laughs and a nice, steamy romance. Take caution though – you will need ICE! Five out of five stars for a job well done! show less

I know there will be lots of reviews for this story by more professional reviews so I'd like to share what I really loved about this story. Both Tell and Georgia are dealing with baggage from both family stuff and their perception of how they are seen by others. They really have to work to overcome the crap and find out what's worth fighting for. Personal special book moment - when Tell's the one with all the ice cream in his freezer and that 2 of the 4 kinds he has are two of my favorites.
I continue to love this series more and more. I love that Ms. James isn't afraid to write about the things that make a family a family, all the good and the bad. Tell McKay turned out to be quite the complicated and lovable person and it was nice to find someone that fit him so well. Georgia also turned out to be so much more that a high school cheerleader. It is also nice to see how the other Mckays are doing with their HEA. Reading this story made me wanted to go back and re-read all the other books again. I hope that Ms. James has plans for a different series since she is fast running out of McKays. I love her writing very much and I hope that she continues writing for a long time.
Georgia was the Hot cheerleader in High school that Tell was in lust with but she was already taken so he could just lust for her from afar. 10 years later Georgia comes back to Sundance & it happens to be their 10 year reunion. She decides she wants to go with Tell to stick it to her ex-husband & Tell is all to willing. At first you really can't believe that Tell would give her the time of day since she snubbed him back in high school but as the story goes on your realizes things aren't always what them seem & you can't help but root for them to get a happily ever after. with all Lorelei James books there are plenty of hot sex scenes. I also love how she alters the mans view & the ladies view in every other chapter.......read more on show more my blog iloveladyporn.com show less
