About My Library

📚 Shannon's Library 📚

Some people collect things. I collect worlds.

I've always believed a library says as much about its owner as it does about the books it holds. Mine has grown one story at a time and now includes more than 815 books across 250+ series, with more stories always waiting to find their place. Cataloging them isn't a chore. It's part of the adventure, preserving the memories behind every preorder, special edition, sprayed edge, signed copy, and lucky bookstore discovery.

My shelves are built around stories that make me laugh, cry, stay up far too late, and immediately search for the sequel. Romance is the heart of my collection, with Fantasy, Romantasy, Dark Romance, Young Adult, and LGBTQ+ fiction close behind. I'm happiest wandering magical kingdoms filled with dragons, fae, found families, witty banter, slow-burn romances, and characters who discover where they belong.

Horror occasionally sneaks onto my shelves, but only temporarily before it finds a new home with one of my friends. I'd much rather spend my evenings with dragons than demons.

These shelves are not organized by perfection. They're organized by excitement. Every book represents a moment in my life, a recommendation from a friend, a BookTok rabbit hole, an author I couldn't stop reading, or a story that refused to leave my heart.

I don't collect books only to own them. I collect stories that become memories, worlds I want to revisit, and characters I never want to say goodbye to. If a book makes me forget what time it is, leaves me thinking about the characters days later, or makes me immediately hunt down the next book in the series, then it belongs here.

Welcome to my little corner of the book world. Pull up a chair. There's always room for another reader.

Georgette says there is always room for one more book.

About Me

If someone asked me to describe who I am, I wouldn't start with what I own or what I do. I'd start with what matters to me.

I believe people deserve kindness, respect, and the chance to be heard. I care deeply about fairness and try to see situations from more than one perspective before forming an opinion. When I see someone struggling, my first instinct is to ask how I can help. I don't believe generosity is measured only by money. Sometimes it's measured by time, encouragement, patience, or simply showing up when someone needs another person in their corner.

I'm naturally curious and love learning. I enjoy understanding how things work, solving problems, and finding better ways to accomplish meaningful goals. When something matters to me, I give it my full attention. I tend to notice details that others overlook because I believe small things often have the biggest impact. Whether I'm working on a long-term project or helping someone solve a problem, I want to leave things better than I found them.

I also believe that justice and compassion belong together. Rules and principles matter, but so do empathy and grace. I try to treat people with dignity, celebrate their successes, and offer encouragement when life becomes difficult. I don't expect perfection from others, and I don't expect it from myself. I simply believe that each day is another opportunity to grow, to learn, to be a little kinder, and to make a positive difference in someone's life.

At the end of the day, I hope I'm remembered less for what I accomplished and more for how I made people feel. If the people around me felt valued, supported, respected, and genuinely cared for, then I believe I spent my time well. That's the legacy I hope to leave behind.
