Mine

Literally, one of the top most anticipated books for 2013 and, for me, it definitely delivered. First off, to clear up any confusion this is all in Brooke's POV. Remy, which is obviously in Remy's POV comes out on November 26! Anywho, I loved Mine. It's basically more of everything I fangirl-ed about in Real. More vivid imagery of Remy working out, more development into his and Brooke's relationship, and more insight into him and their time apart. All with the reality looming over us that these two will forever have to work for their relationship. But if anything Mine solidified Brooke and Remy's unfailing commitment to each other.

Brooke and Remy have already been through their fair share of shit storms, but the hits just keep on coming in Mine. In a short amount of time their lives are completely altered and they must push through, or risk falling into a vicious circle. I, for one, loved the twists and turns this book took. However, I will warn you that some of it is a bit repetitive of Real's plot. Having said that, I wholeheartedly believe the points warranted a re-visiting. And it wasn't exhaustive reading about it either. It's just like the practice of coming back to a problem with newer and fresher eyes. You see a solution that you couldn't see before. I think the story line of this book brought more closure to certain aspects that were left open in Real.

I really enjoyed each and every chapter in this book. While Brooke and Remy haven't quite experienced adulthood yet the trials and tribulations they go through in Mine catapult them there, real quick. I saw Remy fight harder out of his dark spells and Brooke finally get the full picture of his illness. I was really quite terrified during parts of the book, because Brooke had some earth shattering revelations that I thought may crack her resolve. But she does grow quite a lot in Mine, as well. And oh boy, can we just talk about their chemistry and passion for one another? Because it is unbelievable. There were much more Brooke and Remy, "let's rip each other's clothes off" scenes in this book. Their emotional growth and magnetism, definitely transferred into the bedroom... and gym.. and bathroom... basically anywhere they damn well pleased :) But outside of their little bubble lies conflicts with just about everyone in their world. The couple couldn't catch a break, but never faltered in their endgame, or devotion to each other. Mine is every bit as heart-wrenching and captivating as its predecessor. And while it holds up on the angst as well, there are quite a few swoon worthy moments as well. Once again, Katy Evans has created a wonderful book that I will be sticking on my "re-read" shelf. And I will be anxiously awaiting Remy's POV story at the end of the month and the books of future couples to come!

I still love Remy, but holy hell...if I had to read about him being a "lion" and scenting one more time I was going to lose my ever loving mind. I just felt like this book was a grand gesture to all the alpha-loving woman out there... a kind of "you want alpha?? I will create the MOST ALPHA MALE EVER!!!" It was just too much.

The plot was good, the story was ok, the meat was BAD!
Oh My God! The obsession with the guy's looks and organic food and how healthy the hero is was annoying in the first book. This book took it to a whole new level of ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every fucking page was stuffed to overflowing with how "sexy" and "healthy" the hero was, how "loved/loving/love/love/loved" were the hero and heroine, and how "organic" was everything these guys ate. I FUCKING GET IT!!!!!!!!! Holly shit, talk about ruining a good book with bad editing! Where was the editor??? Couldn't any of the proof-readers see that 200 out of 336 pages was just repeated words and phrases? Good god!

I was so bothered by the rinse and repeat that I was barely able to pay attention show more to what was actually going on in the story.

I didn't really like this book at all. The obsession with the key words just really ruined this book for me. I might have liked it otherwise, but maybe not. Looking back on the book nothing stands out as pleasurable about it.

I will be reading Remy's story though. Or at least trying it out. If it looks to be more of the same, and that seems to be the running theme, I'll be skipping it! show less

The beginning takes us back to where REAL left off. Remy and Brooke are back to traveling together and sharing tons of sexual moments. Shortly after though, an unexpected surprise takes place and leads Brooke to bed rest. Remy then travels alone and Brooke is left with her friends and her ipod. They miss one another like crazy and when Brooke is finally allowed to travel again it is time for the big fight with Scorpion. Remy has been on fire, but he is Black and everyone is worried about his safety. Did he win? Was he safe? Read it to see...

This book was good don't get me wrong, but I felt the storyline was lacking. I loved the suspense and drama with Brooke and Remy traveling together.

-I like the Jealousy and angst.

When show more Brooke got pregnant the whole mood of the book changed! She was put on bed rest at just a couple months into the pregnancy, which I felt was kind of far fetched and personally, the book was slow when Remy was traveling alone. We got friendship and family stories, but I wanted more Remy.

There was drama with scorpion at the beginning and I loved that part. I also loved the ending and all the fighting scenes. They were wrote fabulously.

The book fell short towards the middle though. When Nora went back to the Scorpion. I was like "Oh no! Here we go again." I wanted something different, not a replay of book 1.

I still love Remy and secretly I prefer him black. Shame on me -I know!
His craziness sucks me in and his broken side tugs at my heartstrings.

I definitely say give this book a try. Everyone has their preferences. I just wish this one left me feeling the way REAL did. show less

The end left me with a bittersweet taste in my mouth and a smile on my face. I know 3 more books are coming, but this is the end of Brooke and Remy's story. I loved all the characters (with the exception of Scorpion of course). The end was so sweet.

I reached a point where I was saying "Not this again" and I was a tiny bit (okay, maybe a lot) mad at Remy, even though I knew I shouldn't be, for what he did when he and Brooke were apart but after what Railey said to Brooke I wanted to punch myself for even thinking bad for Remy. That man is so possessive and in love with Brooke and his actions should not be questioned.

I can't say why they are torn from each other because is the hugest spoiler in the book. Distance is not show more easy at all when it comes to them and let's just say that these two are attached to the hip and their separation was forced. They had to stay apart in order for someone to have a future. But I don't believe that there ever was a question about Brooke and Remy's future. If someone had read the first book s/he would know that both would prefer to die (especially Remy) than being without the other. show less

Remy by far is my Favorite book boyfriend of all time!
I couldn't put this book down. The emotional roller coster doesn't take long to start up. Brooke is understandably upset but the thing is she's upset with herself but just can't get those words out making Remy freak out. Things get better from there but there are always outside influences that reek havoc. Things get hairy at the end. Brooke & Remy have a love story I never want to stop reading about!
Fantastic Ending.
