In a series of vignettes, Myrick tells of his growing up in a small Missouri town. The art grew on me throughout the small book. It's definitely something to read and think about quietly, like poems but in cartoons. Although my local library has it shelved with juvenile graphic novels, I would put it in YA or adult. I'm not sure it would appeal to children; the nostalgic feel might be something an adult would appreciate. Also, there's a scene with a dying man in the ER that I would be concerned about for kids.
