Holy crap! I just want to say that Abbi Glines is definitely my drug of choice when it comes to New Adult/Romance books. She has the uncanny ability to suck readers in and leave them wanting more every. single. time. Preston is my ultimate bad boy of the Sea Breeze series but man, Dewayne gave even him a run for his money! Dewayne is rough around the edges and has the “I don’t give a f*ck what anyone thinks” persona and it fits him well. He the epitome of deliciousness and that dirty mouth of his just made this book all the more sweeter!

The thing I love the most about Dewayne, besides that mouth of his, is the fact he knows what it feels like to have lost someone. He’s guarded and for good reason. But with Sienna he’s show more completely different. He’s been attracted to her since she was young but she was someone he knew he could never touch. Why? Well, she was his brother’s girl. Even though he knew he could make Sienna happy and keep her safe he never made a move. Six years later, when Sienna shows back up with a part of his brother he never knew existed, he still didn’t think Sienna needed someone like him, but in the end the pull was just too strong.

Sienna was a the perfect heroine. She thought she’d found her happily-ever-after in Dustin Falco but when a huge mistake turns into a life shattering event she was left with no one to love her or help her. Then a miracle happened…Dustin left a part of himself with her and it was in the beautiful little package of a baby boy. Keeping this child wasn’t a hard choice to make for Sienna but it did have major consequences. Lies, betrayal, and hurt is what surrounded Sienna for six years and then she moved home. When some pretty big misunderstandings come to light she and Dewayne try and find a way to make things work. Dewayne wants to know his nephew and Sienna wants her son to have more than just a momma for family.

When things get heated between Dewayne and Sienna, Sienna knows that she can’t just have a one-time thing with Dewayne. It isn’t in her to give herself over like that to a man she knows could potentially break her. She knew she could love Dewayne but she was scared of him not returning her feelings and their relationship having negative affects on her son, but in the end she just couldn’t fight the pull Dewayne had over her.

I loved this entire story line. It was executed flawlessly and the pace was perfect. I have to admit I wanted more but that is because of my slight addiction to Abbi Glines’ characters. It had the perfect ratio of story line and steamy scenes and saying this is an understatement. Holy crap! I haven’t panted this much while reading an Abbi Glines book since Just For Now! I loved every minute of this book and I hated to see it end.

Dewayne surprised me in the most fantastic way. I wasn’t expecting much out of his book because honestly, I never really got into his character but now, having read HOLD ON TIGHT he’s my ultimate second. (Behind Preston Drake, of course). He’s real and rugged and his dirty mouth could set a nun on fire! With Sienna he’s gentle and honest. He’s perfection wrapped up in a hot, dread-locks package that I could swoon over every day, all day.

Where do I start? Hold on Tight is book 8 in the Sea Breeze series. Now normally by the time you get into this many books you're either reading because your OCD won't allow you to stop or maybe getting a little bit bored with the series but oh my days that is so not the case with with these! Each and every one has been fab and if I'm honest each new one betters the last one in some way in my heart! Don't get me wrong I love all the Sea Breeze clan, it's hard not to love Preston, Cage, Marcus and Krit they're fiercely loyal to their friends, protective of their loved ones and passionately in love with their women, what's not to love in all that!

Dewayne has been in the background of all these books since the get go, he's been the show more naughty, cheeky friend that likes to wind up his friends, that has women falling for him but until this book that's about as much as we have really uncovered about him. Well I have to say he's just delicious, a bad boy with a bruised heart who loves his family. When Sienna returns bringing along a lil Falco no one knew about things were bound to get intense! Sienna is hurt, she's felt abandoned by her parents and has worked hard to make a life for her and Micah. Its been hard but little does she know that Dewayne would have been there had he known.

Seriously I have to stop there, there is so much to this story I urge you to read it. I couldn't put it down and was truly gutted when I saw the percentage creeping up and up I just didn't want it to end and now I'm champing at the bit for the fabulous Abbi Glines' next book cause frankly she's just fabatastic!

*I gave this audiobook an A+ for the story and a B for Shayna Thibodeaux's narration and a B+ for Sebastian York's narration" at AudioGals*

Narrated by Sebastian York and Shayna Thibodeaux

I absolutely loved this audiobook! It was so captivating that I listened to it in just two sittings over less than twelve hours! As a mother, this story of a single teenage mom and the lengths that she went to protect her baby, even in the face of unbelievable abandonment, just broke my heart. Hold on Tight was so emotionally charged that it even made me cry throughout several points in the book. What a story of courage and of the healing power of true love!

Sienna Roy lost her boyfriend, Dustin Falco, in a drunk driving accident at the tender age of show more sixteen. They had grown up together and had been best friends since they were kids, so it was a doubly devastating loss. To make matters worse, she discovered shortly after his death that she was pregnant with his child; her parents quickly and quietly sent her away.

Dewayne Falco, Dustin’s older brother, lost more than just a brother following Dustin’s accident, a tragedy for which he blames himself. He also lost Sienna. Dewayne had been protecting Sienna since she was a child, and had particularly stepped it up when she started high school, as Dustin’s popularity as the star basketball player had caused him to neglect her. Believing that his “perfect” brother was the one truly deserving of her, Dewayne made it his mission to ensure that Sienna was safe until Dustin was ready to man up to the woman he deserved to love for the rest of his life.

When Sienna disappeared into thin air, and her parents convinced him that she had been sent to a mental facility to recover from a nervous breakdown induced by his brother’s death, Dewayne resolved himself to move on with his life and help his parents pick up the pieces. Leading a pretty wild party life, he indulged in women to dull the pain of his losses, but never spent more than one night with any one.

Six years later, after her father passes away, her mother moves out and Sienna moves back in, with a five-year old boy in tow. One look into the boy’s eyes, and there is no denying who he is. Feeling like life has provided him with a miraculous second chance, but enraged that Sienna would keep this secret from him and his family, especially at a time when they were hurting the most, Dewayne doesn’t know what to do. The one thing he does know is that he must be involved in his nephew’s life.

With Dustin gone, he determines that it is his responsibility to make sure that all of Dustin’s son’s needs are met. This responsibility is made especially clear when he looks at Sienna and her meager belongings (including her scrap metal of a car), and sees that Sienna has barely been able to scramble enough together to provide just the bare necessities.

Sienna, in turn, while deeply longing to provide her son with family, believes that the Falcos abandoned her when she needed them most. Now Dewayne claims he wants to be involved. Can she trust him? As the web of lies and betrayal start to unfurl, deep held feelings between Dewayne and Sienna can no longer be denied. But given their unbreakable connection via Dustin’s son, is it wise to risk losing it all again for the promise of more?

My first by this author. I'm not a huge fan of the NA genre but I like some of them. This one was okay. It seemed pretty light weight. It went real quick and there didn't seem to be much meat for some reason. Not a lot happened and some that did I had to raise my eyebrows at. I totally did not believe that the heroine after having hated Dewayne (not a good name for a hero BTW) and after only having crappy sex in her high school boyfriends car six years ago would expose herself on camera and masterbate in front of Dewayne. Before she had even had any kind of intimate contact with him. Nope not buying it. It was totally not true to her character as written.

Readable but not really memorable for me and while I might try this author again, show more I might not. show less
I liked Rock and Trisha's story so I rated this 3 stars instead of two, but otherwise, it's like just a sex-athon LOL.
I just uber love this author. On to the last book, then to the next series. Xx
