I was a little worried it might be like Harry Potter but I still got it as I like the Jason Steed series by Mr Cooper.

No it's not like Harry Potter, Archie Wilson has no magic powers, no broom stick and does not go to Hogwarts. But it is as good as Harry Potter.

Archie Wilson is wicked, I really liked it and read it twice.

Archie has to move to Scotland, a place called Foyers and its next to Loch Ness. Archie falls in and is drawing but something saved him. he wakes up in a secret under water cavern. Living there is Sporrans, yep Sporrans those fluffy white things that hand from Scottish mens Kilts. But these are real Sporrans still alive, they live hidden and in secret with Gordon. Who is Gordon. This bit was very funny.

“Em. Are you the Loch Ness Monster?” Archie stuttered shuffling back a step.
“Aghhh! M, M, Monster. Monster.” Gordon shrieked, he turned his huge body and run further down the cavern to a boulder no more than six feet tall in the center, Gordon hid behind it.

Yep Gordon is the Loch Ness Monster but he is afraid of monsters, lol and if you say the word Monster he runs away.

Anyway, this nasty creature called the Nuckelavee is trying to come back and take over the planet. He has the help of Gargoyles the old ones on church roof tops. Archie and his friends the Sporrans must stop it.

Also Archie has a new friend called Chloe, I think she likes him.

Also Rob Roy MacGregor is still alive and 300 years old. I won't spoil the ending but its classic. ( )

I was not sure if I would like this or not. I like the authors Jason Steed series and was not quite sure what this would be like.
Archie Wilson is fantastic, one of my favorites, it took me back to Harry Potter, but Archie can;t do magic, it is a nice story about a boy who has to move to Scotland to live with his dad, they live on the edge of Loch Ness. Yes you can guess who Archie Wilson meets, but he also meets Gargoyles and Sporrans, it is very funny, a little scary in one chapter and exciting. ( )

"This well-written, fast-paced fantasy combines a celebrated subject with engaging, unique characters, humor, coming-of-age and exhilaration. An historic myth is being re-told and we do get an explanation why the Loch Ness Monster never shows up, but everyone's convinced that it's there".

"At last a novel about Loch Ness you can actually believe. Archie Wilson is a fast-paced novel that young readers will adore. The story is an excellent read, with plot and characterization exceeding all expectations. A structure of great old-fashion story telling, built on a foundation of historic facts.
Cooper gives a new twist to an old, enduring myth. An exhilarating, mind-expanding voyage under calm waters that opens the mysterious secrets of Loch Ness".
