Value, Price, and Profit

Description
Karl Marx's 'Salário, Preço e Lucro' is a critical examination of economic theories within the labor movement, focusing on the theory of surplus value. Written in 1865, the text critiques the ideas of John Weston and others who argued that wage increases would harm industry and the working class. Marx counters these claims by discussing the relationship between wages, labor, value, and surplus value, emphasizing the importance of labor's role in determining the value of commodities. He show more argues that the value of a commodity is determined by the amount of socially necessary labor time invested in its production. This work serves as a foundational text for Marxist economic theory, advocating for workers' rights and the economic transformation of society. show lessTags

These little books are invaluable in grasping the meaning of Marx's political philosophy.
I was surprised by the readability of the work. I have read Capital twice, and need to give it a third 'bash' to take its full offering. This little tome was no easy read, but is willing to give up its knowledge more readily.
Strongly recommende.
