I think this book is good for the younger grades. It shows younger kids about many people from different walks of life, and what they are thankful for. I really like this book, because it has such a positive message, which is to be thankful even for the small things in life.
This simple and easy-to-read picture book features different characters and what they are thankful for. There's the waitress, fireman, poet, pastor, and artist. All are thankful for something very different from their friends and family. This book highlights the many different ways there are to be thankful.
The Bottom Line: By featuring different things to be thankful for, this gentle picture book will inspire children of all ages to take part in a November Thankfulness Challenge. Preston's illustrations bring the text to life by conveying the rhymes and blessings. Enthusiastically recommended.

Thankful is beautifully drawn, rhyming book about how we should be thankful for all the little things. The bright images and easy reading make for a wonderful book for young readers and parents alike.
Eileen Spinelli strings together a creative sequence of things everyone should be thankful for but in relation to various people and professions. And while you might think that the book is being released for Thanksgiving it is really just a fun book that happens to have fall colors on the front of it.
The illustration is both detailed yet simple and the colors are vibrant. The pictures depict kids and parents playing and participating in various activities and I think all readers will find it enjoyable and think about all the things they show more are thankful for. show less

I read it as a somewhat oversize, giftable board book. I'd like it better as a Scholastic paperback, tbh. So, in my imagination, that's the version I'm rating. It's just not what I like board books to be; I prefer them small and simple, bright and short, for toddlers.
Such a sweet lovely book...I'm thankful for it! The illustrations are soft and colorful and gentle. Perfect for cozy bedtimes with your little ones.
Nice rhymes, focuses on the everyday blessings.
Great book to introduce being thankful around thanksgiving time. I can see having my students create their own unique thankful for statements easily after reading this book. Love Eileen Spinelli's work.
