“The Silk Vendetta” has a steady pace that rarely speeds up or slows down. I found it engaging on the most part, featuring some quality scenes, but it was devoid of any real excitement.
victoria holt is a captivating author. she is excellent at taking you to times and places far away. there is always a bit of a sinister or dark feeling in the background as you make your way through her books. a sense of foreboding, i guess. always resolved quite nicely. :)
