hird of the Fey. I think I'll probably stop here, although it doesn't end the series at all. Still fun still balanced on the Isle, but I feel she's inventing new magics on a whim and it doesn't quite sit right with me.

Focus is now on the children (grandchildren) of the original invasion, but something just doens't quite a feel as tightly plotted as the first two. The Black King brings his full invasion force to the Isle some fifteen years after the last book. It's a big jump and not well carried. The Isle of course isn't prepared and when the Holy Water doesn't work (even though the Black King knew nothing about it) crumbles apart from a few holdouts here and there. That Nicholas' children are of Black Blood descent though the much show more missed Jewel means the King has to approach the palace with care. It's not quite enough to hold my interest. show less

Almost too much action in this one. Still the Black King is quite a character.
