This rebellion was the most important thing in Central Europe for 30 years, and its echoes are with us today. Turnbull concentrates a good deal on the primitive firearms of the day. That leads easily to the Hussite War Wagon technology, also a matter of interest. The War Wagon concept travels to India, and the army of the Mughal conqueror Babur, a century later.

Stephen Turnbull is an Honorary Lecturer at Leeds, a Research Associate at SOAS and Visiting Professor of Japanese Studies at Akita International University. He is a leading expert on the military history of Europe and the Far East and the author of more than fifty books on the subject.
