“Curious George and the Pizza Party” Written by Cynthia Platt and illustrated by H.A. Rey. The overall theme of the story is the importance of sharing and how it is fun and learning to take responsibility for your actions. In the beginning of the story George was so excited that he was invited to his friend's pizza party. When he got to the pizza party, he realized they were all going to get to make their own pizzas. The other kids and the mom all went to play a different game when George stayed back in the kitchen because he was curious about combining everyone's dough together to make one big pizza. By the time the mom got back, the dough was all over because it was too big for the table. George and all of his friends then cleaned show more up the mess and started over this time all making their own pizza. The illustrations throughout the story really show the mess George put himself into by being curious about what it would be like if all the dough was combined. It also makes the story more interesting and easier to follow. I think this story is beneficial for children to read because it shows the more fun side of sharing with others. It also shows how to take responsibility for your own actions, which I think is very important to learn at a young age. show less
