Haunting Charlie was okay, and I enjoyed it for the most part as it was a quick, easy read. Charlie and her cousins are enjoyable and I definitely liked the family dynamic and how they all have each others' backs when they are in trouble. I was not a fan of the dynamic between Charlie and her ex, especially using the excuse that they need to stay cordial due to the fact they share a child, but the husband kept threatening her. Why did this rub me the wrong way? Because he kept threatening to just call his law and judge buddies and bingo, the custody situation will get changed and Charlie could get institutionalized for her behaviour. What? Sorry, but the law doesn't work like that and Charlie has a cousin who is a lawyer. And the way he show more threatens her with regards to their son? And why would she call her ex in the middle of the night because she had a prophetic nightmare knowing he doesn't believe in anything she did or said? Call a cousin!! I also don't often comment on typos in a book, but after all this time, there are still a lot of them. All in all, a decent read, and I will continue the series, but I won't promise to not roll my eyes in future books if this nonsense with ex-hubby continues. show less
So many thoughts. I’ll start with I liked the concept, the extreme emotions. I liked the tight knit family. Some undeveloped talents and unanswered questions there.

The “reader beware” moments. Lots of trigger warnings to sensitive readers.

The downside - ghosts can’t hurt you, except when they can. We’ve seen that the main ghost can manipulate a living person to do his evil, which flies a whole lot better than the ghosts manifesting physical harm on their own. Despite this inconsistency, I felt the book was well done.

At the end if the day, I would recommend this.
Haunting Charlie Wendy Wang This is a lot of genres all in one novel! We have ghosts and psychics, a thriller, light romance, and a serial killer. I don't like serial killers but it works in here. Great tight knit family which my cousins were not, when I was growing up. Great characters, plot, and although not a lot of twists and turns it was an easy read and enjoyable.
8/10 perfect medium/ghost/mystery story! Could have been longer, though. I read it too fast lol
Good book

I really liked this book and I love Charlie. She is awesome and her family is as well. Definitely interested in reading more about her adventures.
