2521 The Mighty Continent: a view of Europe in the twentieth century, by John Terraine (read 23 Jul 1993) This tells the story of Europe in the 20th century to 1975. Obviously it is a once-over-lightly account and told me practically nothing I didn't know. It would have been more fun to read if it were to cover the time to the present--surely it would have been more upbeat than was the case when Communism still held half of Europe in thrall.
