Description

"A rare, insider's look at the life of Donald Trump from the bestselling author of the Killing series, based on exclusive interview material and deep research. Readers around the world have been enthralled by journalist and New York Times bestselling author Bill O'Reilly's Killing series-riveting works of nonfiction that explore the most famous events in history. Now O'Reilly turns his razor-sharp observations to his most compelling subject thus far-President Donald J. Trump. In this show more thrilling narrative, O'Reilly blends primary, never-before-released interview material with a history that recounts Trump's childhood and family and the factors from his life and career that forged the worldview that the president of the United States has taken to the White House. Not a partisan pro-Trump or anti-Trump book, this is an up-to-the-minute, intimate view of the man and his sphere of influence-of "how Donald Trump's view of America was formed, and how it has changed since he became the most powerful person in the world"- from a writer who has known the president for thirty years. This is an unprecedented, gripping account of the life of a sitting president as he makes history. As the author will tell you, "If you want some insight into the most unlikely political phenomenon of our lifetimes, you'll get it here.""-- show less

Bill O'Reilly does not narrate the bulk of this book which surprised me but the narrator chosen was excellent. In the Forward, Bill himself explains how and why he acquired information for his book. Since O'Reilly's staggering moral fall and subsequent firing from Fox News, I have not heard much from him. Even so, his 40+ years of talented journalism, top anchor at Fox and many best selling books to his credit is impressive. He still stands by his trademark of "fair and balanced". He states he wanted to write a "history" book about Donald Trump and the phenomenon of his election to the Oval Office. He wanted to record why Donald Trump believes what he believes about America and thus his reason for running for the Presidency. Bill show more O'Reilly has known Trump for 30 years but they are not personal friends. They are more like sparing partners and Trump trusts that Mr. O'Reilly will treat him fairly......Bill only got the interview with Trump by badgering him over a period of time. Bill wanted the "Trump reality", by reporting the truth, good or bad. There is in- depth recording of Trump's family history, family relationships, childhood, military school, etc. He did not flatter Donald Trump at all nor smear him. Neither did Bill try to psychoanalyze him. I saw this book as an honest fact finding mission to discover what exactly makes Donald Trump tick. If you are neutral about Donald Trump, this book will enlighten you. If you hate him, well..... maybe just consider another viewpoint. If you like the President, you will understand him a lot more..... Please, this is a book review. I am not soliciting remarks about your personal feelings about Donald Trump. show less

A very informative and balanced biography about President Donald Trump. Based on numerous interviews and his personal relationship with Trump spanning the decades, the author gives context to the behaviors of Trump the entrepreneur, celebrity and president. One of the better books about Trump on the market and would definitely encourage those for and against Trump to read it.

3.9 I honestly think this book is fair and balanced on Trump. O’Reilly doesn’t overly praise the president, nor does he complexly rip him without justification.
Bill O'Reilly takes a neutral look at Trump the one of a kind president. No axe to grind O'Reilly objectively weighs the man's strengths and weakness to try an portray what we all try to figure out on a daily basis. I don't think anyone really has the answer and this just another take. Very much oriented to the lead up to his presidency and the campaign and election. Some good one on one conversations between the two along the way.
Excellent analysis of Donald Trump. Presented factually without bias.
