The Dover edition that I read has only B&W illustrations. Nice enough, but not worth investing in a print copy.
It is interesting to see the original (?) versions of some well-known tales. Jack the Giant-Killer is especially different, as it explains and justifies Jack's theft of the giant's treasures, and has other additional material, too.
I didn't like it as much as I'd hoped. But then, many stories were at least vaguely Arthurian, and I have no interest in that whole setting.
But this is a good book for amateur scholars and completists, and a good source for writers looking for fresh tales to adapt, & for illustrators looking for new stories to put out as picture-books.

By this point in my life, I've probably read almost every fairy tale known to man. So I bought this for the art. Five full-color full-page illos stuck in the center of the book no where near the stories they are about and various size B&W illos throughout. The many B&W's are nice and clear anyway. Cole did great artwork.
