The annual Valdemar anthology. More good stories than meh. Returning characters and some new ones. Scattered around the timeline. I like Ms. Lackey's story, of the time when Vkandis was becoming more active, but before Solaris was Son of the Sun.
The usual mix - mostly good ones this time, only one that truly confused me (the blind Karsite...who knew what and why shifts around a lot). The first lot is mostly romances - some where the romance is the solution and some where the solution allows the romance. Then the serials, which since I missed the last book are as confusing as usual, though some good stories (or parts of same). And ends with some I think standalones, including Lackey's story - most of those are very good (though the blind Karsite is one of these).
The annual anthology of Valdemar stories brings back several writers from the last few years to continue working on storylines they have going in this setting. It was nice to see the continuation of these characters and not have them in peril. The final story is by Mercedes, and it is a standalone story with a Herald in Karse. For the most part the collection is entertaining and if you are happy visiting different settings in the Valdemar universe then you will be happy to read this one.

Universally problem, solution, good feelies. Very little in the way of complications in these very short stories.
An excellent collection for the Valdemar Canon. All good with many, a cut above.
