Description

"The long-awaited new book from the best-selling and beloved author of The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook--a collection of essential recipes for meals you'll want to prepare again and again. Deb Perelman is the author of two best-selling cookbooks, the OG of the culinary blogosphere, the homegrown brand with more than a million Instagram followers, the self-taught cook who obsessively tests her recipes until they're perfect. Here, in her third book, Perelman presents 100 new recipes (plus a few show more old favorites from her site) that aim to make shopping easier, preparation more practical and enjoyable, and food more reliably delicious for the home cook. What's a keeper? It's a brilliantly fuss-free lemon poppy seed cake. It's Perelman's favorite roasted winter squash. It's an epic quiche. It's a slow-roasted chicken on a bed of unapologetically schmaltzy croutons. It's the only apple crisp she will personally ever make. It's perfect spaghetti and meatballs. These are the fail-safe, satisfying recipes you'll rely on for years to come--from Perelman's forever files, to yours"-- show less

Beautiful photos! Easy to follow recipes! Entertaining commentary! Encouragement and humor!

I’ve followed Deb Perelman for a few years and used to get her frequent emails with recipes and personal commentary. This is her third cookbook, but the first one I’ve read (got it from the library). I marked so many of the recipes (as did my daughter) in this book that it was obvious we would need to buy our own copy to make all the mouthwatering dishes. The recipes are categorized as Breakfast Anytime, Salad, Soups and Stews, (tons of) Vegetables, Meat (chicken, pork, shrimp), Sweets, and Snacks!! Can’t wait to get started! Also, while this isn’t a gluten-free/dairy-free cookbook, I can easily modify many of the recipes to work for our show more family, so that’s a plus. I think I have used up my allotment of exclamation points 😊 show less
Hanukkah gift from Ben

Within less than two weeks of having this book, I made the following recipes, and all of them were excellent. Keepers, indeed! Excited to try many more.

Baked French Toast
Butternut Squash Soup
Orzo with artichokes
"Angry Grandma" Pizza
Spiced sweet potato oven fries
This book is aptly named; each recipe is one you will come back to time and again. Loved it.
some very good recipes, lots of Jewish and vegetarian friendly, New York style cooking recipes, kinda complicated though
I have made several recipes from this new cookbook and enjoy it as much as the first!
