Sinds mensenheugenis ligt het land Callisiora veilig verscholen binnen de ommuring van het Kleed, een wereldomvattend magisch scherm. En zolang de bisschop-heerser Kadahl beschikt over de Letiam, een heilig relikwie en tegelijk een medium waardoor de god Myrial hem van richtlijnen voorziet, zal dat zo blijven, tot in alle eeuwigheid.
