Bride of the Slime Monster

Another fun, fast read from Gardner. The writing style and plots will be a matter of taste; if you enjoy the recurring villains, signature behaviours, soundbites and plot-dictated incompetence of B-movies and their ilk you'll be fine, but if that sort of thing grates on you, perhaps not your thing. Seeing Roger wrestle with the natural laws of various film realities is fun, and I devoured this one in an evening.

Almost 20 years ago a friend brought me this as a souvenir from London. It has moved between several homes with me because I liked the title, and I still do. It's just so.. intense.
The book itself was about as good as you'd expect. I must admit, I was hoping for some nice dramatic, super serious sf. That would have gotten 3 stars. But alas, it's trying to be a parody of basically every movie ever made, and it's just very... meh.
