This book had very engaging art, and unique designs that were visually interesting. My kids enjoyed the pictures and fantastical elements, but they, like myself, were less compelled by the overall point of the book. If there had been a through-line or something to drive the story, perhaps they would have liked it more. I was heartened to see that it appears to have been inspired by Ruth Krauss, and for what it is, it is an attractive book to flip through.

Colorful, captivating, cute, charming and cheerful illustrations.

All the different doors are kind of fun but I didn’t find the narrative inspirational and I think it was aiming for that sort of response.

It still is a fun and engaging book and I would read it to/with children and would recommend it.
This lovely book is an exploration of doors. Doors as passageways to somewhere else, doors for privacy, doors to open, doors to close. So many lovely ways to look at doors. The artwork is lovely as well. This will make an excellent bedtime story or as lesson on creativity and divergent thinking.

This book is a winner. I hope it come out in a board book eventually. I can see reading it to young babies, toddlers, or preschoolers and helping to connect them to the ideas in the book. A young child explores what doors are for and how they can lead to many different places and ideas. Doors are everywhere so it makes it an easy book to share with a young child and expand on the ideas in it. A beginning reader may like the book since it is simple text that they can figure out, especially with the help of the pictures. The illustrations are perfect for the book in slightly muted colors. The pages are thick and will stand up to many readings.
