This was a short collection of stories centering around Native American people and the practices and beliefs of their cultures. Not every story will strike a chord, but I found most of them to be enjoyable. I pull this out every so often and browse through a few stories, and it has turned into visits with old friends.

First words
(Introduction): This is an anthology of stories by or about American Indians, which the editors hope will help publicize the culture, history, and concerns of Native America while entertaining general readers.
He was a young man, handsome, well muscled, and possessed of a clear awareness of the world around him.
(Afterword): This project began as an off-the-cuff remark I made to Brad Linaweaver that "Tatham Mound" was my favorite of Piers Anthony's novels.
Last words
(Click to show. Warning: May contain spoilers.)There I stood in granite, pistol in hand, dressed in my Dockers and penny loafers and the tattered remains of my button-down oxford shirt, my foot atop a fallen S'hondowek'owa warrior woman, the only woman I have ever loved.
