Our Heritage: A Brief History of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

As the subtitle says, Our Heritage is a A brief history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The little book can't expound upon everything that happened while the church was established, but the accounts and stories are enough to show that building up the church of Zion was a great undertaking and that the church was established by men of God and founded upon principles of righteousness. I enjoyed reading about the sacrifices of early saints. This is our heritage, and it is a great one.

This is a brief but interesting and readable history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints covering history from the inception of the Church up through the presidency of Gordon B. Hinckley. This slim volume covers major events in the early years of the Church and then highlights such developments as worldwide missionary efforts, the organization of auxiliaries such as the Relief Society and Primary, the emphasis on doctrines such as tithing, and the gradual movement of the Church membership from Utah immigrants to worldwide and diverse congregations.
