We actually found a video of this online and then checked out the book. It is odd that in the video, Maisy and her friends make little squeaky sounds but don't speak as they do in the books; there is a British male voiceover/narrator. Maisy's friend Tallulah wants Maisy to come play, but it's Maisy's bathtime...so Tallulah just decides to join her. Splash, splash.
Character: Maisy, Tallulah

Setting: Maisy's house, bathroom

Theme: Taking a bath, bath time

Summary: Maisy is about to take a bath. He runs water and puts in bubbles and a rubber duck when the doorbell rings. His friend Tallulah wants to play. He says that he can't play because it's his bath time. He is back upstairs, getting undressed. He jumps into the bubble bath and the doorbell rings again. It's Tallulah. She runs to the bathroom and joins Maisy for the bubble bath.

Review: It is a great book for teaching a concept of taking a bath. The necessity of rubber duck and some bubbles during bath transcends the time. The illustrations are mainly filled with primary colors which delivers simplicity. The first thing that came across my mind upon show more the completion of the book was, "Is Tallulah a girl?" As small children are curious basically about everything, they will also wonder if it is okay for a boy and a girl to take a bath together. It can lead to a sensitive topic, so if the teacher is using this book as a readaloud, the teacher needs to be prepared to present them wise answers.
