Publishing an atlas purporting to cover the history of the Jewish people from antiquity to the present is a courageous, even audacious act... Yet this succeeds beautifully in doing just that.
Just looking at the cover, one suspects that this book is going to be special. I was not disappointed. In addition to wonderful samples of art and other cultural materials, there is a tremendous amount of factual information. I have read the book over a large period of time, examining each time period, or century, for details of Jewish life and living. This book is definitely one that I will use for personal research as well as seeking out beauty.

While his book deals with the total history of the Jewish People, about 1/5 deals specifically with the Holocaust. There is a wealth of information and hundreds of beautiful photos and maps included.
This book has extensive maps and illustrations of Jewish life from Old Testament times to the 1990's. Includes all parts of the world where Jews lived and gives short histories of the time periods and cultural conditions.
