Funny book with big, clear illustrations -- great for storytime. Conversation between mom and child about what pet they should get :-)
This book is about a little boy named Jack who suggests to his mom that they should get a pet. Throughout the story he suggests all sorts of different zoo animals like polar bears, lions, buffalos, sharks etc. and then his mom politely tells him why those animals would not make good pets. After she finally says that he should pick a less exotic pet, he finally chooses to get a dog. In the end you see Jack very excited with his new puppy.
A child goes through a list of wild animals before settling on a dog.
Another classic from Emma Dodd! Perfect for storytime.
