Description

When Patty Went to College is a humorous novel about life in an all-girls' college at the turn of the century. Patty is a happy, fun-loving prankster who defends the weak and uses her clever brain only when it suits her. The end of the novel sees her contemplating life outside of college, and wondering whether her misbehavior will stand her in good stead for it.

Bjace Patty is a fun but less responsible version of Judy Abbott. Both of these are college stories probably set at Vassar.

While I LOVED "Daddy-Long Legs" and "Dear Enemy" by Jean Webster, her first novel was just ok for me. I don't feel like she had found the voice/sense-of-humor that I enjoyed in her other work at this stage in her career. Not a bad read, but I'm glad I read her other work first.
A light series of vignettes about the life of a young girl at college.

This is an entertaining read, and the stories of college life are sweet, it doesn't really gel into a coherent novel.
Vignettes of Patty's last year at a girl's college, probably a thinly-disguished Vassar. Patty is a heedless and more mischievous version of the author's more famous Judy Abbott, of Daddy-Long-Legs. Patty is better developed in the later novel, JUST PATTY, which deals with her earlier school years.
