The humour and playfulness are pretty much unmatched.

Overall, "Grooks" is a delightful and engaging book that I would highly recommend show more to anyone looking for a quick read that is both intellectually stimulating and entertaining. Scott Rosenberg mentions Heins in his book Dreaming in Code; specifically, his grook:

I’d read some grooks before and loved them, so off I went a looking. Love it. Delightful collection of insightful simple verse that appeals to me. I tagged more than a few to dole out to my friends.

Very entertaining pieces. Some were on the funny side and others were more thought-provoking. Very enjoyable read.

Tiny Danish poems full of humor and insight into human behavior. Written, mostly, during the Occupation of World War II. The points are so subtle, the Nazis often missed them entirely.
