Great reference book for less experienced gardner. Clearly written, easily understood.
Single encyclopedic volume filled with gardening knowledge and how-to instructions. Contains hundreds of illustrations and descriptions to help identify plants, weeds, pests, and diseases. This book is very useful with dependable information for the beginning or experienced gardener.
A good, basic guide with many extras.
For "under cover" and outdoor gardens. Starts with the Zone Map for the Continental United States, and then presents charts of ground cover, trees, shrubs, flowers, bulbs, corms and tubers, water plants, and ferns. Separate sections for food plants and soil. Includes an illustrated section "Controlling Pests, Diseases, and Weeds"-- the pictures make it easy to quickly identify and find information about control.
