The Faust legend transplanted to 1980s/90s London. More overtly horror than Newman's other books, this works OK. The Murdoch look-alike newspaper proprietor Derek Leech makes an appearance, leaking over from a (far better) Newman short story, as does one of the cartoon characters from Leech's newspaper, Dr. Shade. Otherwise, not so much of Newman's genre character mashup, which is a shame because that's what he's really good at.
