This is a cracking good sea story. Captain Richard Blake has just delivered the HMS Andromeda to Australia to be turned over to the Australian Navy. Before this can take place, he is sent to sea to capture a German raider. As the story continues, he fights several sea battles, has his airplane shot down and survives a wild ride in a dingy harassed by sharks, fights naval bureaucracy and eventually fights two German raiders in an epic battle plus wins the girl he loves. Reeman always gives the reader many details of life aboard a naval vessel at war.
One of the better Reeman sea war stories made even more so by David Rintoul's reading.
