Description
"One Night Stands and Lost Weekends is a sterling collection of short crime fiction and suspense novelettes penned between 1958 and 1962 by a budding young master and soon-to-be Grand Master--an essential slice of genre history, and more fun than a high-speed police chase following a bank job gone bad"--Page 4 of cover.Tags

Maybe three stars. Benefit of the doubt. Slightly above average noir pulp hack work by a young Block. Funny and brutal at the same time (if that makes any sense) and definitely not politically correct as far as rape is concerned. The Ed London stories are average "dame and drink" private dick stuff and a few of the individual stories strike a chord.
I love the Bernie the burglar series, but I couldn't even finish this collection of short stories. That all have basically the same plot.
The Ed London stories were good, the other shorts got kind of repetitive
