½
First novel from Diski who went on to be a well known writer, which meant she never wrote anything as good as this again.

Tale of woman who gets in relationship with man who dominates her.

"Rachel saw a vison of herself bent over the kitchen tale, bare arsed, beingspanked by a fully clothed man....What am I doing, she thought. Why am I letting it happen?. But the part of her that wasn't watching was arching her back, lifting her buttocks to receive each smack as it came."

Arousing in parts
A bondage novel that speaks a lot about women and sex. Pain and pleasure abound in this novel. It's the only popular novel by Diski, but I suggest you seek out her other novels.
