An okay novel about a planet inhabited by a race of small but terrifying demonoids, and ruled by a powerful and malevolent intelligence. Also, there's a beautiful mysterious woman with a fatal secret who Kirk falls in love with. Of course.
I really don't get why "devils" are such a big thing. I guess they were more of a big thing in the past? But like...IDK. I really don't think that people feel like Satanic horns are THAT scary anymore. The only other notable thing here was that there's a Jain character (!) but...she seems to only know it as a philosophy and not anything about the religion? It's weird.
This is a nice little novel. It's a very quick read. The ending seemed very sudden.

There's not a lot of character development in this one, or even a lot of action. The story is very simple. The concept and plot aren't all that interesting or original either.

I don't have anything bad to say about this book, but there's not a lot of good things to say either. It's not one I'd recommend to someone else.
Mostly boring and forgettable. Not much in the way of plot or character development, and the new characters introduced were all very bland.
