The Savage Tales of Solomon Kane by Robert E. Howard (jseger9000)
jseger9000: Both books deal with Puritans (of a sort) fighting supernatural menaces. Matthias Thulmann was obviously inspired by Solomon Kane, but Werner's writing is strong enough to keep him from being a clone.

I was a bit uncertain when I bought this book. The most of the reviews were good but there were a few that weren't so I was very surprised when I started reading it and really liked this book. It reminds me of R. A. Salvatore Drizzt books. Not a quick read or a "happy" book. The characters developed so much depth as the novel progressed. A very good read. ( )
