personal response: I enjoyed this book as much as the other Goosebumps books. I imagine that R. L. Stine was seeking a new formula for his writings when Goosebumps popularity tapered off. Mostly Ghostly was a continuing storyline, but failed by being too far a departure from Goosebumps. Here there is a continuing storyline focusing on the Horrorland theme park and it ties in with the popular Goosebumps brand. Hopefully these are a winner as I would enjoy reading more. Also, though this was the fourteenth story in the series I didn’t feel the storyline to be too far out of reach for me to jump right in
