Deep in the woods, animal mothers reassure their little ones of the many ways they are loved. Endearing, full-color artwork from a Caldecott Honor artist highlights the bond between parent and baby. One of my favourites to read to the children. A lovely book!
Although it is a sweet book, it really is meant for older children, probably kids beyond the stage of needing board books. Too many words on each page, no rhyming, and no "action," all things that contribute to books' appeal in the under-3 set.
We'll hold onto this for when she's older, but right now it just sits on the shelf, as we can't get past the first page without her clamoring for something else.
discusses different animals in the forest that are with their mommas.
