The immediate sequel to Funeral Games, set in the Wars of the Successors, Cameron leads us on an action packed campaign by land and sea for the right to the Kingdom of the Bosporus.

The twins are now twenty. Many of their supporters were companions of Kineas and Sarayanka, their parents. Together they are planning their revenge on their parents’ killers and the reclamation of the kingdom stolen from them. Set in 310 BC, not long after the death of Alexander the Great, the detail of daily life, religious belief, waging of absolute war are woven together in a tale that leaves the reader 'wanting more'.

Cameron re-introduces many of the characters from earlier books in the series – and he kills many of them off. Cameron's characters are show more engaged in warfare and casualties are high!

His writing is authentic and believable, the battle scenes fantastic and the parallel tales of the twins keep interest high.

I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for the next instalment.
