Zoe and Mia stop and see a fortune teller as they are leaving the carnival and Zoe gets a curse passed on to her. Terrible things keep happening to her, and Noah thinks she is harassing him. Not as creepy as the first one but still a good creepy read.
Zoe doesn't think that anything will happen when she jokes about the fortune her friend Mia is having done. But the fortune teller sees nothing funny about it and places a curse on Zoe. Suddenly everything is going bad for Zoe and it is getting dangerous.

I enjoy this series. The friendships are strong. The characters are likable and believable for the most part. Mia is probably the best friend in the world as sticks by Zoe. There is also the message about not making fun of things just because you don't understand them. Good lessons and fun for tweens.

When Zoe and Mia visit a carnival, they have their fortunes told by a fortune teller named Serafina.

Mia's fortune is upbeat and promises a new journey. Zoe's, however, says that she will make a bad decision. Without realizing it, both girls end up with necklaces around their necks that are supposed to seal their fortune.

Neither girl thinks anything of it until creepy things begin to happen to Zoe. Her house catches fire, her bike spins out of control, and she starts receiving threatening emails and texts saying that her luck has run out.

Can Zoe break her fortune before it's too late? Who is sending the threatening messages?

Zoe and Mia are best friends who get their fortunes read at a carnival ... but someone gets cursed. This book would be good for someone who likes books about curses and magic baecause the curse is solved by magic
