Zoe and Mia stop and see a fortune teller as they are leaving the carnival and Zoe gets a curse passed on to her. Terrible things keep happening to her, and Noah thinks she is harassing him. Not as creepy as the first one but still a good creepy read.
Zoe doesn't think that anything will happen when she jokes about the fortune her friend Mia is having done. But the fortune teller sees nothing funny about it and places a curse on Zoe. Suddenly everything is going bad for Zoe and it is getting dangerous.
I enjoy this series. The friendships are strong. The characters are likable and believable for the most part. Mia is probably the best friend in the world as sticks by Zoe. There is also the message about not making fun of things just because you don't understand them. Good lessons and fun for tweens.
