In this installment, the reader finds out what happened to Helena Henry and why Hank wasn't her biological son. When that little gem was thrown into the story it threw me for a loop. I totally didn't see that coming. But it all works out in the end. And this book kept me guessing until the very end. The epilogue was sweet, happy and sad, all at the same time.
Helena Henry, ghost extraordinaire, returns in the last of the Mudbug trilogy. Her antics will keep you laughing.

A child is kidnapped.

Raissa, pressured by Helena, offers her help to the police. Detective Zach Blanchard doesn't believe in all that psychic nonsense and suspects Raissa isn't getting her information from a crystal ball.

He just doesn't isn't sure how she is involved.

I enjoyed the romance, mystery, and humor. I look forward to other books from Ms. DeLeon.
Quirky characters made this book enjoyable. I admit to being confused by all the actions going on around the central characters and almost too much intrigue to keep up with but Raissa proved to be a highly intelligent woman who knows how to get things done.
Raissa, former FBI and escapee from Witness Protection, breaks her cover when a young girl is kidnapped. It is the same MO as what broke her cover 9 years before and almost got her killed. Zach is the New Orleans Police detective she informs of this. Her life is threatened several times as they try to solve the kidnapping, keep Raissa out of the hands of the FBI and the mobster who she was to testify against. But all this is just the tip of the iceberg. All the earlier stories fit into the overall plot. Helena, the ghost, is a better character than in the previous story as she is developing a more sympathetic personality and is less obnoxious, though not as funny as in the first book. Everything is tied up here, not sure where #4 will go.
Helena Henry has just appeared to Raissa, Sabine's "mentor".... Someone wants Raissa dad, they have just pushed her in front of a bus, and Helena pulls her out of death's way.

Raissa's past has just caught up with her, she has been in hiding for nine years...

She isn't really "psychic", but she knows how to obtain information... and when another little girl from a cold case goes missing, that puts Raissa in danger. In danger from: the Mob Boss she once worked for; the FBI; an unknown assailant; & Zack the sexy New Orleans police detective on the case who has it bad for Raissa.

The entire Mudbug cast comes together to help solves the kidnappings and protect Raissa, including Helena, who is soon to know who it was who murdered her.

My only show more whine was it basically had the same formula as the first two in the series, and I'm pretty sure the following books will be similar as well..... But I did find this light & entertaining to read while holding my interest. show less
the last book in the series did not let me down. It still had Helen the dead mother-in-law ghost. This time the action surrounded Raissa the physic from new orleans and Zach the cop who is investigating a kidnapped girl. Raissa tells him its been a pattern for girls kidnapped and returned a week later with no memories except of aliens and to look at like cases in the FBI data base. Zach thinks she either the kidnapper or knows who it is. FBI warn local police away from raissa that they want her. Raissa is already flown her apartment and business and someone tried to push in front of bus, but Helena pulls her back out of the way. Thats the first time she has seen Helena and hears her too. Crime family wants Raissa dead so she wont show more testify against them. FBI Wants her. Zach finds her and realizes she not a bad guy. they want to find the little girl before someone else gets kidnapped like Hank. You finally find out who murdered Helena and why. Its a fun action pact mystry love story. I enjoyed it quite well. show less
