His younger brother was also a Sufi and writer: Majd al-Dīn Abū al-Fotuḥ Aḥmad Ghazālī (c. 1061–1123 or 1126)

Al-Ghazali's Path to Sufism: His Deliverance from Error (al-Munqidh min al-Dalal) by Abu Hamid Muhammad Al-Ghazali

A great and still useful run through the ways that most people think about the world, and why you probably shouldn't think about the world in those ways. I'm not about to convert to Sufism, but I'm glad Ghazali found what he was looking for.

Very disappointed by the typo in the figure on page 75. Can you not add up, people?

No me ha convencido, a estas alturas...
Pero buenos argumentos a favor de la su religion.
Algunas partes estan obviamente desactualizadas (este libro tiene casi 1000 años) como cuando dice que la medicina es una desconocida y una cosa de dios. Quiza hoy en dia ya no tanto.
En todo caso es interesante como ver las dudas y los argumentos frente a su propia fe de una de las figuras claves de la historia del islam.

Al-Ghazzali On Listening to Music (Great Books of the Islamic World) by Abú Al-Ghazálí, Hámid Muhammad

This is a great idea--publishing little slices of Ghazali that might be approachable for people who aren't quite ready to dive into the 1000s of pages of the whole thing. For me, this was a history-of-philosophy/religion exercise, and as such, an easy, thought-provoking read.
