Yeah, even 30 years later this movie is still a classic. And it's not hard to see why, with gorgeous visuals and a touching storyline with some wild and touching moments.
I can see glimpses of a stylised presentation, which could be brilliant if successful, and if the orphanage backstory is original to the film then kudos for that. But overall it doesn't quite achieve what I think it set out to achieve.
It's a cute movie, and one thing I will say is this handles Stuart Little's origins better than it did in the book (the book's origin was just weird)
The tale of the Monkey King told with martial arts flair. Two of my favorite performers working together for the first time make for a perfect movie. The visuals and story-telling are a great escape.
