The original Visions of Heresy was a beautiful brick, but the decade later (since Collected Visions) glow up is utter gorgeousness!
This is just a phenomenal collection of new and old art that truly bring this epic saga to life.
The lore is an interesting mix of being an overview that doesn't spoil the specifics and intricacies from the various stories and some great scenes and quotes from the big players. The story covers before the Great Crusade to Horus' plans for his brother-generals after show more the whole hullabaloo on Isstvan III and the kerfuffle on Isstvan V.
The introduction of new art from various artists, including a good look at some of those spectacular covers from Neil Roberts and co, alongside the classics we know and love is bloody brilliant. My heart and vision of Darker Millennia will always belong to John Blanche and his crunchy gothic nightmare, but it's all fantastic.
Very excited to five into the next volume! show less

This large tome is a collection of art and minutiae from the world of Games Workshop's Warhammer 40000. It includes art featured in every incarnation of the game to the point, from the very first edition in the 1980's to the latest splatbook cover art. The majority of the art is black and white, separated into very broad themes, with a handful of full-page color pieces in the center. Almost every grouping of images includes some in-universe text regarding the nature of the 41st millennium show more and its many factions. The quality of the artwork really runs the spectrum, but for the most part is the cream of the crop from GW's products. If you are not familiar with the world, chances are you won't get too much out of this book, but that's OK, because it's been out of print for years. Eternal War... I mean Peace. show less

Wonderfully illustrated hard-covered edition of the four Horus Heresy art books. Collected from Sabertooth's collectible card game, this edition incorperates all those little nuances you find in the game and gives a great walk-through of the Heresy.
